AVL CS Day is back for 2026!

What is Asheville Computer Science Day? It’s a FREE event for the local tech community to gather and learn. There will be several technical talks followed by a social gathering with dinner and drinks.

3:30-4:00 arrive and mingle

4:00-6:00 Technical Talks (subject to change)

  • 4:30 — Digital Opportunity in WNC, Craig Varley, Land of Sky
  • 5:00 — Effects of AI on CS Education and Junior Developers, Dr. Tim Scapin, Haywood Community College
  • 5:30 — Seeing through the Hot Air: Heat-Induced Turbulence Simulation and Motion Field Decomposition, Dr. Nianyi Li, Clemson University
  • 6:00 — Thanks and wrap-up technical program, Kevin Sanft, UNCA Computer Science
    

6:00-7:30 Dinner+Networking event
