Hello UNC Asheville Computer Science students, alumni, friends, and community partners! I’m excited to announce that we now have a newsletter! My plan is to provide an update to the UNCA CS community about once per semester.
It has now been 6 months since Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina. While parts of Asheville and many businesses and homes are not yet repaired (or may never be), I am happy and thankful to say that UNCA and the Department of Computer Science are mostly back to normal.
We’re excited for our second Asheville Computer Science Day, which is THIS SATURDAY, April 5, on the UNCA campus.
As you can read in the newsletter, we are excited about our new DATASCI scholarship program. And our ACM Student Club continues to be active. And we’re looking forward to the Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium where our CS students will present their capstone projects!
